Fishing is the primary attraction to this area. The Dromore River System stretches from Ballybay to Cootehill in Co. Cavan. The coarse angler will be happy with his catch of Pike, Bream, Tench, Rudd, Roach, and Perch.
On most of the lakes there are fishing platforms which the Northern Fisheries Board have developed. Lough Muckno, in Castleblayney, boasts the best Pike fishing lake in the country, and recently hosted the World Coarse Angling competition.
Alice's Loft & Cottages is now in a position to provide a complete service to all visiting anglers.
